Dr. Niccole Bruno, DVM (she/her) –CEO and Founder, blendVET®

A Queens, NY native and proud Afro-Latina, Dr. Bruno developed a passion for veterinary medicine at age 12. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in 2006, overcoming systemic barriers including racism and underrepresentation.

Her leadership journey began as a Medical Director in Long Island, where she championed inclusive workplace culture across hospitals in New York and Houston. In 2020, she launched blendVETⓇ, pioneering a continuing education certification program and movement for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in the veterinary profession.

Bruno also launched blendVET’s Believe and Belong in Veterinary Medicine Youth Pathways career exploration program for underrepresented, middle and high school students. To date, blendVET has engaged over 700 youth with support from thousands of veterinary professionals who help reshape the profession to better reflect the diverse communities it serves.
