  • 1. Best Vet in Southwestern Fairfield County

    by: jgoldsti

We have used South Wilton Vet for 5+ years after trying other vets in the Ridgefield area. This veterinary group is the best in the area. All of their vets are extremely good and are caring people. The staff is great and we are very satisfied with them as a vet. The handle cats, dogs as well as exotic pets including birds, reptiles, etc.\r\n\r\nWe highly recommend this vet to others.

    Excellent vets, caring staff,

We are so happy with the care given to our little girl at South Wilton Vet Group. Gracie came to us as a very sick little girl and they took excellent care of her. They have been so reassuring of us as first-time dog owners, and patient with all of our questions and worries. \r\n\r\nThanks for everything, to all of our friends at SWVG!

    knowledgeable, friendly, caring

    pricey (but worth it)

    by: Waynebow

Well, I really go to them for avian care, not for the personalities ...\n\nHaving said that, the medical staff all seem to be really top notch. Very caring and highly competent.\n\nNow if they could do something about the competence of the kids (I'm presuming here) who answer the phone, they would have received 5 stars in every category.\n\nLocation is not prominently advertised with signage so it can be a tad difficult to find on busy U.S. 7 if you're going to them for the first time.\n\nWish they'd consider expanding their hours.\n\n

    Excellent avian certified vets

  • 4. Excellent Vet for Normal Animals and Exotics Alike

This practice is excellent. The staff is nice and knowledgeable and genuinely cares. There are many doctors for different types of pets and all are very experienced. The place is spotless and one of the very sweet receptionists also runs a pet sitting service which I also recommend.

I swear these guys know everything. And if they don't, they find out the answers for you overnight.

Sometimes appointments get backed up and you have to wait quite a while.

  • 5. Guinea Pig Vets Abound Here

    by: wpotsus

The veterinarians in this practice treat a wide range of pet species: dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, chinchillas, hamsters, gerbils, mice, exotic birds, reptiles, amphibians.\r\n\r\nFor the small & furry pets (guinea pigs, rabbits, ferrets, etc.), SWVG has several vets who have well-developed specialties in these species: Nicholas Sitinas, Clare Fahy, and Barbara Mangold. These vets have wonderful "bedside manners" for both animals and humans. The staff -- from the front-desk receptionists to the vet techs -- is absolutely wonderful. \r\n\r\nWhether you're taking your pets in for routine wellness exams or critical/emergency care, you and your critters will be in *extremely capable* hands. All of your questions will be given the time and attention they need, and you will receive crystal-clear explanations of health conditions, surgical procedures, and diagnostic tools and methods. The techs and assistants will take the time to show you how to administer needed medicine or perform more routine tasks (like nail clipping). \r\n\r\nA "5" is not a high enough score for this practice. They're definitely a "10"!

great hours (open 6 days a week), multiple vets, great staff

after-hours on-call support is more limited than some owners may be comfortable with
