my mother-in-law (who recommended him to us) took her pets to him for years!\r\n\r\nBut My experience here was not "super" a result of an accident-My dog had an injury that required stitches-and Dr's wrapping of that injury resulted in the removal of 3 inches of my baby's tail by another vet.\r\nWhen the dr here thought he would have to remove my Lab's WHOLE tail-we sought a second opinion & are glad that we did.\r\nWe never went back. And now live in another town.

I love this place. Well worth my drive of about a half hour. Everyone is always so friendly. The prices are very low and reasonable. Very fortunate to know Dr Allen and his staff.

    Prices, availability, knowledge, friendly

wish it was closer to my home

I am so thankful I found this place. It was recommended to me by a coworker. I am so impressed by the service I get and the prices. The staff is friendly. I try to tell everyone I know with pets to go here. It will be worth any drive time. As a previous review states, vaccines are cheap.... under $20.. Meds are priced great also. When you go in for regular vaccinations, they do NOT charge you for an office visit. Most other vets charge you anywhere for $30-$45. I will never go anywhere else!!\r\n

  • 5. Doc and Shirley Allen are true friends to animals

    by: RCraft

Doc and Shirley Allen, the owners of Pleasant Valley Vet Hospital work together every day. If you walk into the front waiting area, you will either be greeted by Shirley or their assistant Alice. You always get a warm smile and a friendly hello and they usually call you by name. People come from all over Columbus, driving to the small town of Plain City just to get service like you would have received decades ago. Prices are also caught in a "time warp" and Doc keeps vet care affordable for everyone. Doc always has a funny story to tell. When the office is closed, the phone rings into Doc and Shirley's home which is right in front of the vet office. They will go back in at any time of the day or night to help an animal in need. It is nice to visit a place that still understands old fashioned values and commitments to patients. Shirley jokes that Doc is going to "die with his boots on," because he will never retire. He won't retire, she says, because he loves what he does too much.

The staff cares about animals and they are affordable.

Doc is overworked and needs a vacation--the curse of being good and popular

This vet hospital is nice, the people here love animals and are kind and gentle with them! I have used them for my dogs, I get their vaccinations there, and they are very affordable, I got a 3 year rabie shot for 15.00 and a combo vaccine for 17.00, Banfeild wanted to charge me 80.00 for all of this!

    Very affordable and great staff

    No emergancy care
