On two separate ocassions, I have had to bring stray dogs to the shelter (after keeping for a few weeks and trying to find owners or some one to adopt them, I already have 3 dogs which were strays). One time, the person was very kind and understanding. Another time, the person gave the sense that I was inconvencing her, and was rather cold to both me and the dog. As this was already a sad time for both the dog and I, that made it worse. But, I know that there are very caring people who work with the shelter (Friends of Pitt Co. Shelter), and they work very hard to care for the dogs , find foster placements, and adopt out into loving homes.

knowledge of the animals, outside area to interact with animals

seem too eager to adopt out, without much info about the adopters.

I rescued my gorgeous dog Ladybug from this shelter after several weeks of consideration. I found her on petfinder.com and fell in love. I was a little apprehensive since I already had dogs, but she is great and Elizabeth was A LOT of help!

    Very nice
