  • 1. Very deserving shelter in rural, underserved area

    by: LogTavern

In a very rural area, this shelter sits on a good amount of land with space for dogs to run. The cats now have their own cat house, built via donations. The staff does an outstanding job of serving the surrounding communities, without having the necessary monies that they deserve. They serve a lot of towns, because there isn't anything else in this big area. Animals are cared for always. Some of staff lives in the house right next door.

    Animals are the BIG priority

They need more money and resources

    by: tcarrubba

We just adopted a beautiful 11 month old cat from the Pike Shelter. The staff was very accomodating even letting us come on a day when they were not opened to pick up the cat. They were very knowledgeable about the cat's history and seemed extremely dedicated to the animals. There were many beaufitul animals available for adoption.\r\nThis shelter is currently facing the possibility that it may have to shut down if enough funds are not raised. My hope is to somehow help them win the Shelter Makeover Contest. If you're willing to help, please join in!

    Very accomodating staff
