It cost $100 dollars to adopt a dog. You are forced, and I do mean given no other option, to have the animal taken to vet Actually, they do it for you. The fee gets you nothing, no low cost spay/neuter, no first shots, nothing. That amounts to $250 in three days. Their financial records can not be found. Their newsletter has not been updated in 9 months. You would be better of getting a dog off the street. At least that way you could afford to feed it. They need to adjust their practices in line with other shelters in the area and provide a complete disclosure of all monies as required for non-for-profit organization. It's not the animals fault, but this organization does not yet deserve the support of the people of Southern Illinois.

The staff and animal for adoption are great.

You get nothing from them in return.
