I went to Doug's to check out options for my 4 month old puppy. The good: The place was clean, and the staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. All the dogs there seemed happy. The downside: 1) The dogs were all in one large pack, rather than separating by size and play style. My Golden puppy was 4 months old at the time, and I really did not want to have to worry about her getting squooshed by a 95 pound lab! At the same time, when my puppy gets bigger, I don't want to have to worry about her accidentally breaking the legs of a 5 pound Papillon! 2) There are no crates/ rest areas for the dogs. If my dog is to be there all day, she will need some downtime for sure. 3) My puppy was getting 3 meals a day at the time. Because of the single pack and no-crates, they would not be able to feed her lunch. With all this, I opted to take my puppy elsewhere. I know a few people who bring their dogs to Doug, and say they they like it. (even though it is expensive!) It is just not for me.

One big pack, no place for dogs to chill

I took my dog there for sometime before I moved and she loved it. It was SO convenient to where I lived. The staff was SO caring and so helpful. Doug has many many years experience so he was able to get my dog accustomed to this new routine. They have a great big play area inside (with different areas for big and small dogs). They also have a quiet room for nap time. I also like their hours from 7a to 7pm. My dog enjoyed going there. I recommend them if you live in the Stamford, CT area.

caring staff, big playroom, pick-up service

the outside run could be bigger
