  • 1. Not for me- There are much better places!

I have read others reviews of the lake, and I am suprised that so many like it. I personally MUCH prefer Peters Lake Park (which is less than 2 miles away) or Mingo. I never bother with this place. First of all, there is very little good dog walking territory and trails compared to the other two places I mentioned. Second of all, litter- especially glass which is dangerous. There is some lovely scenery, but I think the best reason to go to Canonsburg Lake is to canoe (especially because you can check out some remote marshes- very cool!). The lake does have good parking and you can meet other dog walkers, but I consider this place a waste of time in light of other dog friendly parks around where you can walk for miles and enjoy much more privacy, peace, and much much more attractive scenery.

good parking situations and availability, meet other dog walkers

litter, litter, litter. . . and fishermen who obviously don't appreciate you being there with your dog

I used to live about a mile from the lake and my husband and son fished there. Very clean and a lot of people take their dogs for walks around the lake too.

Easy to get to and very clean
