We moved to Austin because it is dog-friendly and this off-leash area makes it all worth while. This park also has multiple areas for dogs to run, play, and swim.

    Pros

Great views of Austin skyline, off-leash, lake available for swimming

    Cons

At times hard to find a parking spot

Austin Town Lake has a nice, shaded dirt path that winds along side the river. One stop on this path is Auditorium Shores. There is a large grassy area where your dog can run and play chasing his or her favorite tennis ball or toy. It really isn't an off-leash area, but if your dog is well-behaved you can probably get away with it. Your dog can also go for swim, and you can both enjoy the downtown city skyline. This area gets crowded on weekends, but is still well worth the visit.

    Pros

Trails, Grassy areas, Water, Shade, City skyline

    Cons

    Crowded on weekends
