I take tons of blankets and towels which can't be distributed at a clothing mission here in Black Mountain for various reasons. These folks are always so glad to see me. They seem to be tireless workers for the animals.

They have a new facility underway.

There are no negatives to my knowledge

I adopted my Millicent Bystander from AHS back in Oct of 2007. She was already spayed, chipped and had shots and tests done. She came with a small bag of Science Diet kitten food too. The staff was very quick to help my husband and I when we were interested in looking at her closer. Had she not reached out for me I would have walked right past her! They let me hold her up until it was time to put her in the carrier to leave. They gave me copies of all the paperwork, a certificate to get a free picture made of her and a dvd to watch on how to take care of her. I took a picture of her to them a few months later to show how big she'd gotten and they remembered who I was and who she was. If I didn't have a house full of 'kids' already I'd adopt from them again :).

Very friendly, helpful. Clean, healthy animals

None that I can think of

Great news that the new shelter is on its way! I love the shelter and recomend all who are seeking a life long friend of the furry kind to check out the local shelter first.
