  • 1. Best dog in the world

I got my first dog ever here. We named him Sid. He was a black lab mutt mix, and he was the best dog that anyone could have asked for. Adopting a pet is so much better than buying from a puppy mill. It seems to me that the dogs/cats for adoption are less likely to have any major problems like allergies, rather than a puppy mill, which seems to be a breedy frenzy of dogs/cats that have problems. I couldn't have been happier with my dog Sid. He left us in 04, but I will always adopt because of him! I then called here in 05 to see if any puppies were in, their were none. I recieved a phone call about an hour later from a staff member that said a Lady a couple miles away called and had puppies she was giving away. I thought it was so nice for her to call to tell me that, they obviously don't care about the money, or the sale of animals. They not only care for their animals in the shelter, but within our county as well. Needless to say, 5 years later I still have that puppy I got from that lady, all because they shelter called me back!

All animals were kept safe, and clean.

Very old building, but getting a new one soon!

Staff is really knowledgeable and dedicated to helping the animals in their care. They need funds and a new facility which is difficult in a poor economy and a working class town in which there is not a lot of money from available.

    Really dedicated staff

    Needs new facilities
