Shaun and I went on vacation to Bar Harbor, ME and we brought MJ. Went spent most of our time hiking in Acadia National Park and it was wonderful. If you like the outdoors and want to enjoy it with your pooch this is the place for you. They are very dog friendly and allow dogs on all but a couple of trails as long as they are one a 6 foot or shorter leash. The trails they are not allowed on are for the dogs safety, these are trails which have rungs ment to be climbed like a ladder. Dogs are not allowed on the beach between May 15th-September 15th but if you go to enjoy the fall or spring the dogs can play all they want on the beach. Sand beach is a place to see, it is beautiful and MJ had fun digging and playing in the water. There are trails for all ability levels from easy to hard. They have a couple hundred miles of carriage roads which are flat and great to bike or walk on. There are several pet friendly hotels local and most stores and several resturants in Bar Harbor are pet friendly.

tons of trails, very pet friendly, local town is very dog friendly
