Border patrol officers and checkpoint authorities are no strangers to witnessing bizarre attempts to smuggle all kinds of contraband across borders. However, the Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) in Singapore recently came across something they had never seen before.

According to a post on their Facebook page, ICA officers were inspecting a vehicle when they heard meows. They were surprised to find that the meowing seemed to be coming from a 45-year-old Singaporean male passenger within the vehicle.

The post explains, “Officers were prompted to conduct further checks when they heard ‘meowing’ sounds coming from a bulge in his pants.”

The passenger was attempting to smuggle four kittens through the checkpoint by hiding them inside his pants.

ICA officers caught the smuggler and were able to hand the care of the kittens over to the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA).
