The San Francisco SPCA has again teamed up with Macy's for their annual Holiday Windows campaign. A winter staple since 1987, the pet-friendly mall display in Union Square encourages shoppers and pet lovers alike to visit and adopt some of San Francisco's cutest cats and dogs.

The Macy's Holiday Windows “has been an enormous boon to our efforts to bring comfort to the many adorable animals we care for through donations and adoptions,” SF SPCA interim co-president Dr. Jennifer Scarlett said.

But don't worry about the furry little guys. The pet areas are temperature-controlled and fitted with comfortable spots for quick catnaps.

Last year, Macy's customers and passerby adopted nearly 300 animals and donated more than $50,000 to the SF SPCA. The SF SPCA hopes that even more pets will be adopted this year.

The cats and dogs will be in the Macy’s windows every day during the holidays, corresponding with the store’s schedule, except for Christmas Day when the store is closed.

Visit the SF SPCA's website to learn more about the campaign and how you can volunteer or help. There is also live webcam footage of the animals in the Macy's Holiday Windows, which you can see here.
