What better way to have fun with your lovely four-legged pal this summer than to head down to your local dog park? If you're lucky, you may even be able to take him to one of the parks that were recently declared best in the country by Dog Fancy magazine.

Leading the pack is the Jackass Acres K-9 Korral in New River, Arizona. The park, which opened in 2008, is considered one of the “greenest” dog parks in America. The dog waste is recycled, the electricity is generated via solar power, and the lighting and pre-owned artificial turf was acquired from the NFL. But that's not to say Jackass Acres K-9 Korral isn't fun too.

Run by Anthem Pets, a local non-profit organization created in 2005 to address the lack of facilities for pets to exercise and socialize, Jackass Acres K-9 Korral is equipped with ramps, hurdles, tunnels, hoops, and even themed fire hydrants. (Hey, our furry friends have to do their “business” somewhere.)

Other parks that were given high marks in the 2010 Dog Fancy magazine poll included:

#2 Pilgrim Bark Park, Provincetown, MA

#3 Kenton Paw Park, Covington, KY

#4 Cosmo Dog Park, Gilbert, AZ

#5 Puptown Dog Park, Chicago, IL

#6 W.O.O.F. P.A.C. Park, Santa Maria, CA

#7 Hermon Dog Park, Los Angeles, CA

#8 Prairie Pastures Dog Park, Clinton, IA

#9 Wantage Dog Park, Wantage, N.J.

#10 Bow Wow Beach, Stow, OH
