Heartwarming Photo of Boy Reading to Cat Gains National Attention

Pictured above are 7-year-old Colby Procyk and a loving cat at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County cuddling together for afternoon storytime.

Colby is involved in the shelter's "Book Buddies" program, which strives to improve children's reading and socialization skills.

The program helps children grades 1-8 by reading to the shelter cats.

Felines tend to find the rhythmic sound of a voice very comforting and soothing, according to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County website.

The boy's mother took the photo back in October with her cell phone and posted it on the shelter's website.

On Saturday, someone looking for volunteer opportunities at ARL found the picture and shared it on the popular forum site, reddit.com.

The "picture-perfect" moment has now gone viral and was even featured on BuzzFeed.
