The San Francisco city commission met last Thursday night to hear renters and property owners debate. The issue: do renters have a fundamental right to have pets?
As in most cities, property owners in San Francisco make the final decision as to whether tenants can have pets. Some members of the commission are hoping that in changing that fewer animals would be surrendered and euthanized.
Is it a civil rights issue or are city officials reaching?
