Q. My dog is 7yrs old and she has false pregnancies is there anything to dry her up so I can get her spade

A. There is really no reason that a dog cannot be spayed during a false pregnancy. The enlarged mammary glands can complicate the approach to the abdomen causing milk to enter the surgical field but most vets can deal with that carefully and appropriately. I'd say that if your dog had had more than one false pregnancies, or if she's having one that's continuing for several months, I'd go ahead with the procedure.

A. False pregnancies will typically resolve within 3 -4 weeks. Most vets will avoid drugs since side effects can be serious. Wait it out and have her spayed afterwards.
