Q. I think my cat has some kind of infection. She tries to caugh up flem I guess and nearly chokes on it. Anything I can do from home?

A. It sounds like your cat is trying to vomit, but not bringing much up. You didn't mention your cat's age but I'd be concerned about any number of GI and other diseases, including kidney and liver problems. Cats certainly look like they're going to choke sometimes when they vomit. As far as what you can do from home, unfortunately there really isn't much. If the vomiting continues she needs to see a vet who can diagnose why she's vomiting and treat her accordingly.
