A. The answer to your question is that yes, dogs can get distemper from raccoons. They can also get leptosporosis and rabies from raccoons, so definitely keep your dogs away from this animal. I'd recommend calling your vet to make sure that they are up to date on their vaccinations as well and see if you need to bring them in for booster injections based on this possible exposure.
