Q. My mastiff passed out cold, fell to the floor. Doesn't eat well; feels warm to the touch, heavy breathing, cannot get comfortable. What my be wrong?

Answered By

A. There could be many things going on. If he's weak and has passed out he needs veterinary care immediately. He may have an internal problem that's causing the weakness, like bleeding or organ dysfunction. He may also have pain if he's having trouble getting comfortable. Unfortunately the list of potential problems is very long and it's tough to speculate. He needs to see a vet immediately for an exam and some lab work to start figuring out what's going on.
