Q. I just got a puppy in Ghana where a dog life is different from where I currently stay in US. How do I care for him before leaving him to return home?

A. There should be a vet in the area who works with large animals at least, so I'd recommend consulting with him to see if you can get her vaccinated and dewormed appropriately for the parasites that are in the area. Hopefully you can also find a source for dog food, puppy food ideally, or at least provide nutritional meals with some meat. And the best thing that you can do for her would be to see if anyone in the area can perform a spay operation to ensure that she doesn't get pregnant over and over, which is what happens to most dogs in areas such as Ghana. Finally, try your best to get her adopted into a family who can take care of her after you leave.
