Q. I am going through some meds (to see if still good) I have for my cats. What is Clindamycin oral drops used for?

Answered By

A. Clindamycin is approved in cats for treating skin infections, systemic infections (specifically sepsis and toxoplasmosis), and other infections that are refractory to other therapies. Most often I've used it for bone infections and anal gland issues. Once the oral suspension is opened its shelf life is approximately 14 - 21 days.

A. Clindamycin is an antibiotic and should not be saved once it has been opened and used. It may no longer be effective.
