Q. My male dog has his male part sticking out. I have cleaned it an placed ice on it, but the swelling has not went down. Help

A. This is called paraphimosis, and it can be a serious problem if the penis won't retract back into the sheath. I recommend seeking veterinary care immediately so that he can be treated to reduce the swelling that's likely present in the penis and get it to retract. Sometimes they have to be sedated for this, as it can be painful. A solution of glucose or sugar water is used to help reduce the swelling. Get him attended to immediately in order to get this resolved. Neutering him will help prevent this from happening again.
