Q. Our giant schnauzer just swallowed a small, cooked ham knuckle bone. He isn't having any difficulty breathing but I'm concerned about what will happen

Answered By

A. Please keep a close eye on him. It is possible that the bone will naturally pass but they can cause problems too. If he is breathing, good. If he continues to eat, drink, go to the bathroom and act normal-all good signs. If he begins to have difficulty going to the bathroom, vomit or diarrhea, quits eating or drinking, change in behavior, abdominal pain please consult with a vet. If the bone becomes obstructed he may require surgery to remove it. I hope natural works its magic and hes back to normal.
