Q. Our 15 year old lab mix has weak back legs, not much control of bowels, poor muscle tone, sleeps a lot. Is there anything we can do for her

Answered By

A. Unfortunately, this sounds like unavoidable old age. Muscle deterioration, lack of bowel control and requiring a lot of sleep are common ailments associated with old age. The best thing you can do for her is keep her comfortable, clean and love her up. These are her golden years and at 15 for a lab or any large breed dog, 15 good years was a long time to have together, what a special gift. Just enjoy your time together.
