Q. Flaky, red and swollen patch on my dogs front left leg. I haven't noticrdvany incessant scratching. Seems not to be an issue but is concerning.

A. Sounds a bit like a hot spot. There are many creams/lotions/sprays on the market for pets to help with soothing these. It could also be a type of skin infection. Keep an eye on it, it may go away on its own in a few days, if it gets worse or bothers him it would be worth having a vet take a look.
