Q. Male kitten pooping on rug, why. Have 3 other cats. One being another male. Any help?

Answered By

A. It could be a territorial issue causing your kitten to resort to having to go somewhere else as the litter boxes have been claimed by the other cats. The rule is one box per cat plus an extra. You may need to add more boxes. Often male cats will mark the entrance to hooded boxes to "claim" as theirs and will discourage the other cats from using them. It also helps to ensure they are kept very clean.

Ensuring all your cats, especially the boys are neutered mag also help.
