Q. My three-year-old dog has suddenly dripped urine while lying next tome watching TV. She has never done this before. What could cause this?

Answered By

A. She could have estrogen deficient incontinence which can happen in large breed dogs after they get spayed. My treatment of choice is proin, coupled with Chinese veterinary herbs. I have great success eventually getting them off of the proin. Secondary concerns would be a urinaty tract infection, although that would typically present like small, frequent bouts of urination as opposed to the dribbling while resting or sleeping.
