Q. Golden Retriever calcium level is 14.6. Removed bladder stones month ago. He is on Hills Urinary care diet u/d dog food. Please advise. Help.

Answered By

A. Sometimes we see elevated calcium in the face of different types of tumors especially anal tumors. I would bring him in for a fl physical exam plus a rectal exam. Sadly, Goldens get cancer 30% more often than other breeds so I hope in your case I am wrong, but this is where I could start. Some radiographs of his lungs would also be a good idea.
