Q. My dog limps on left front for only 10-20 steps and then is fine to run and play. He's a pit /boxer mix we think.

A. I would recommend radiographs of the limb. It could be something that we call medial coranoid disease which is a small chip fracture within the elbow. This is often congenital. Otherwise it could be a soft tissue injury, arthritis or a fracture due to trauma. I would start your dog in fish oils- about 1tbsp daily to help reduce inflammation. This should be something you do continuously for joint health. Your vet can also prescribe an oral anti inflammatory or pain mediation based on what the diagnosis is.
