Q. I have 2 6yr old Cavaliers who sleep downstairs together at night..One has started barking during the night and driving me crazy..any suggestions pls?

A. I prefer exhaustion therapy. Long walks, trips to the dog park etc. I also use rescue remedy in their water at night to help calm. I like to remember, however, that dogs don't bark for nothing. Although it may be a cat outside or a car in the neighborhood, it is startling to them. If they can't rest peacefully in the basement it may be worth trying a different location in the house with less stimulation.
