Q. 3 Months Lhasa Apso puppy's T4 is 17.6. The test was done 4 days after Vaccination. What do you think about it. Please help. Thanks.

A. There is a condition called euthyroid sick syndrome where the thyroid levels change in response to something else going wrong in the body. This is very high though and makes me suspicious of lab error. They can do a total T4, free T4 to validate. Regardless, I would check other things and make sure she is not running a fever or inflicted with something else. If her exam is normal than I would recheck those levels in a month:
