Q. For 4 mths my cat has randomly vomited his food w/ chunks of hair.My vet suggested no more dry food for this senior cat&hairball paste.Still he vomits

Answered By

A. There are many things that can cause chronic vomiting in cats including inflammatory bowel disease, metabolic disease ( liver, kidney, etc) endocrine diseases ( thyroid, diabetes) and cancers. If your veterinarian did not run lab work then I recommend a full blood profile be done along with xrays. Once a diagnosis is made, your veterinarian can prescribe medications to help treat and control the vomiting. You could also add a probiotic, like Proviable, to your cats food to replenish the good bacteria his gut.
