A. Although that is the common dosage for a dog of that weight and age, your pet may be very sensitive to the medication and react differently than expected. I would discuss this with your veterinarian that prescribed the medication, but certainly lowering the dosage seems appropriate. IF you are not traveling for a few days, you can do a trial run at home of a lowered dosage. I would recommend given 1/4 of a tablet and see what effect it has. You basically just want her to be calm and less stressed for the trip, but not too sleepy. Wait for at least 2 hours and if the 1/4 of a tablet is not enough, give another 1/4 of a tablet.
