Q. I have a pit bull thats 13 months old and was wondering if it is to late to get his ears cropped?

Answered By

A. Yes, your pet would be considered too old for this procedure. Typically, this surgery is done on a puppy that is about 12 weeks old. The cartilage in a dog's ear is more flexible and pliable as a young pup. I would recommend that you enjoy his natural ears....as they are just as beautiful.

A. Ear cropping is a pure cosmetic procedure, there is no medical or physical advantage in doing so. It is also legally banned in most countries.
