Q. My dog is urinating dark brown like a color of coke softdrink. Is it because he wants to make love with a female dog but no partner?

Answered By

A. Thanks for your question.

No, I do not think the cause you suggested is possible. I would recommend to take him to your veterinaria as soon as possible for a check up and more investigations, as could there be blood inside the urine. If you can collect a urine sample and take it to your veterinarian would be very useful.

Answered By

A. Not likely. Have him seen by your vet to rule out medical causes. To rule out UTI, have your vet collect a sterile sample for urinalysis and culture. Blood work may be able to diagnose kidney disease or metabolic disease affecting his urine. He should be neutered to prevent accidental or unwanted litters if he isn't a show dog or won't be used as a stud.
