Q. Dog has grade4 luxatingpatella, osteoarthritis &malformity in tibia,if surgerys done will it b a waste bcuz arthritis will eventually make leg unusable

A. A certain grade of arthritis and arthrosis will certainly develop after the surgery. It is difficult to say if the surgery itself will make the difference, but from what you described I have the feeling It will. The surgery will correct the problem and at the same time slow down the osteoarthosis on the knee joint. Correct post operative instructions given by your vet will need to be followed strictly to maximise the benefits of the surgery.
