Q. My 2yr old dog had heartworm. He recently tested negative for heartworm, but now has a grade 2 heart murmur and an enlarged heart . What's your advice

Answered By

A. The enlarged heart and the heart murmur could be or not related to the heart worm infection. I would advice to have a cardiac scan done to understand the nature of the heart enlargement and murmur.

I would suggest as well to restrict exercise regime until further test to assess the heart condition are done.
