Q. My shiba inu keeps licking her inner right lower groin area, its a bit swollen compared to the opposite side and slightly red. Should I be worried?

Answered By

A. She may be itchy and that may be due to an allergy or a localized dermatitis. By licking it it will get certainly worse.

The swelling could be due to the fact that she is licking it or due to the underlying cause, anyway it is a sign of inflammation.

I would recommend to put a buster collar on and take her to your veterinarian to check the wound.
