Q. my dog has blood and puss in his urine?

Answered By

A. Blood and pus in the urine is always abnormal. Most of the time it is a urinary tract infection which can easily be treated with antibiotics. However in your case, your dog is an unspayed female. These signs can be related to a much more serious and potentially fatal issue called pyometra. Pyometra is an infection of the uterus which is treated with surgery. If left untreated, your dog will die. I recommend you go to an emergency veterinarian tonight for bloodwork, X-rays and a urine sample.
