Q. My dog's face is swelling up, it started on the left side and is now spreading the right. He's been itching it and there is redness to it.

A. it sounds like an acute allergic reaction, if he doesn't stop swelling up he will need immediate medical attention (injection of anti-histamine or/and steroid to stop the acute swelling), if he stops swelling up, stops itching and doesn't show signs of distress then monitor him closely and it will probably start going down within a few hours (although full recovery might take a couple days). These reactions usually happen after insect bites (spider, bees, ants...).
