Q. I have a dog with kennel cough and is on antibiotics. She seems to have a light red discharge coming from her nose. Is that normal

Answered By

A. It's not common to see blood discharge in Kennel cough patients, but if the nose is affected and irritated it could bleed a little.

If it bleeds more than just a little bit or if it doesn't stop within 2-3 days I would go back to the vet for further examination and tests as Kennel cough can be mistaken sometimes with other upper respiratory conditions.
