Q. Our 31 lbs cat is on r/d & 1/2 can of f.feast twice a day. He is gaining weight. We have him since he was a kitten 5 years ago. Why is he gaining?

Answered By

A. Do you give him the recommended amount that is written on the bag of R/D? if you are not restricting the amount of dry food he will gain weight, even if it is a restricted calorie diet.

Instead of feeding him Fancy Feed you should probably put him on r/d wet food (cans). Again according to the recommended amount.

The recommended amount for losing weight should be given, and it should be given according to the TARGET WEIGHT.
