Q. 4 yo f cat. Losing weight past 6 wks. Now not eating or drinking. Rectal bleeding in last 10 days. Hiding, not meowing

Answered By

A. Rectal bleeding and lack of appetite are two very bad and worrying symptoms in cats. It could be a severe infection of the gastrointestinal system, a foreign body blockage or another severe internal disease.

You should take him to the vet without delay, a cat that is not eating or drinking is in high risk of developing fatty liver (irreversible liver damage) and severe dehydration.
