Q. I have a blue healer female, she hurt her back paw (pad is torn) she wont walk on it. this has been going on for about a month.how and what do I fix i

A. If the pad of the paw is torn it can take a long time to heal, usually suturing this area is not an option either. The best success I had with those injuries have been repeated bandage (change every 3 days) with antiseptic cream applied before hand ( I like to use silver sulfadiazine cream). The bandage needs to be pretty heavy in order to create a soft pad for the paw - use a lot of cotton roll before applying the actual elastic bandage.
