Q. How fast is it safe for a cat to lose weight? At vet's advice, took our fat cat off EVO dry food and put him on wet food. He's lost 2 lbs in a month

Answered By

A. 2 lbs in a month is a lot for a cat, it depends widely on his size and weight though. If he is just slightly overweight this is definitely too much too fast. Bear in mind a cat needs to eat much more from the wet food compared to dry food, as wet food is over 80% water.
