Q. I am looking at getting a Shih Tzu puppy. I am told he is three months old and has had no shots. Should that cause concern?

Answered By

A. Puppies that are not vaccinated are potentially at risk for infection. So to safeguard him I would recommend keeping him away form other unvaccinated pets and to remain indoors until after 10 days after the 3rd set of vaccines, which is when a puppy is deemed protracted against viral infection.

Good luck with the new puppy!
