Q. My dog gets sick daily from eating poop, what are the problems a dog can develop over time? also how harmful is it if he repeats daily?

Answered By

A. The main concern with eating feces is an upset stomach and ingesting parasites from other pets. You have to monitor your dogs activity to ensure this behavior does not continue or clean up the feces quickly to eliminate the source. If your pet eats his own poop then you can ask your veterinarian for a product called Forbid which can be sprinkled on the food and makes the poop taste bad. You can also try 1/2-1 tsp of meat tenderizer added to the food.
