A. This sounds like a surgery complication. I am sorry your cat is in pain, there are no safe over the counter pain meds for cats or dogs for that matter. The best recommendation here is to notify your vet of this and get the ear looked at again to ensure the appropriate treatments are currently in place to resolve the issue. I like to use Onsior because it is the only FDA approved NSAID in cats.
